GAINESVILLE — Florida has accepted an invitation to play Michigan in the Capital One Bowl on Jan. 1, the university announced Sunday night.

The game will be televised on ABC and kickoff at 1 p.m.

Coach Urban Meyer is speaking with reporters shortly, and we’ll be back later with more details.

Tickets go on sale at 9 p.m. Sunday. Here is the press release from the UF sports information office about how to buy tickets to the Capital One Bowl:

THE DEADLINE FOR ORDERING BOWL TICKETS IS 5 PM, THURSDAY, DECEMBER 6. IF TICKETS REMAIN AFTER THIS DEADLINE, TICKET SALES WILL CONTINUE UNTIL SOLD OUT.

If tickets remain after the Dec. 6 deadline, ticket sales will open to the general public and will continue until sold out. However, if the Gator Ticket Office oversells bowl tickets by 5 p.m., Dec. 6, the University Athletic Association, Inc. reserves the right to reduce/refund the number of tickets ordered using the limits listed below. This will ensure as many season-ticket holders as possible have the opportunity to attend the bowl game.

The Gator Ticket Office will establish a priority point cut-off in order to issue reductions/refunds. This cut-off number will be publicized on Tuesday, Dec. 11 at 5 p.m. on GatorZone.com and also on the G.A.T.O.R.S. phone ordering system. Requests for orders to be seated together with others will not be accepted.

Gator Boosters Inc. and the UAA Gator Ticket Office use a priority point system to identify season-ticket holders who will or will not receive single-game and postseason tickets. The value of the points is based on: one (1) point for each $100 of contribution to Gator Boosters for football and five (5) points for each consecutive year of ordering season tickets.

ONLY if necessary, below are the order limits by priority:

Bull Gator 8 Bull Gator (375 points & below) 4 Scholarship Club *4 Scholarship Partner *4 Fightin’ Gator 2 Varsity Club 2 All Other Boosters w/Season Tickets 2 Faculty/Staff 2 All Other Season Ticket Holders 0 *May order same number of Bowl tickets as season tickets, not to exceed (4) tickets total.

There is NO guarantee that all orders can be filled. If the Ticket Office must reduce/refund orders, those receiving a reduction/refund will be notified as soon as possible after the deadline. Boosters may check GatorZone.com or G.A.T.O.R.S. beginning Tuesday, Dec. 11, to determine if their point total made them eligible to purchase tickets and if there were any refunds or reductions in tickets ordered.

STUDENT TICKETS UF student bowl ticket sales begin Thursday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. via the G.A.T.O.R.S. phone system. Students should dial (352) 384-3262 or (877) 428-6747 to order. Tickets are $75 each, plus a $5 processing fee per order, and are limited to one per student. Student ticket pick-up will occur at the Student Ticket Office (Gate 13) Monday, Dec. 10 through Wednesday, Dec. 12, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets are limited to one (1) per full-time, UF student. Depending on ticket availability, additional guest tickets may be sold to students. If this is the case, the G.A.T.O.R.S. phone system will alert students to how many additional tickets they can order.
